PANSY
Pansy continues JChadima’s exploration of botanical form through magnification, colour, and abstraction. The familiar flower becomes an immersive composition of overlapping petals, rhythmic contours, and vibrant contrasts of luminous yellow-green, violet, lavender, and electric blue.
At this enlarged scale, the petals acquire a sculptural quality, their folds and curves creating a dynamic interplay of light, shadow, and movement. The dark central markings suggest an almost mask-like facial impression, introducing a subtle anthropomorphic presence within the flower’s natural structure.
Drawing upon his artistic foundations in photography, drawing, and American Modernism, JChadima transforms close observation into a distinctive visual language. Moving between representation and abstraction, Pansy invites the viewer to look beyond the familiar and discover the unexpected complexity and beauty found in nature.
