SPRINGTIME IN PARIS 2
Springtime in Paris #2 continues JChadima’s investigation of the flower as a language of organic structure, movement, light, and perception. Yet the forms remain deliberately open to interpretation: the composition can be read as a flower unfolding, while its sweeping contours and elongated shapes may also evoke the profile, wings, or movement of a bird.
This ambiguity allows the work to exist between botanical and animal forms, shifting according to the viewer’s perception. Luminous whites, pale yellows, warm ochres, and deep greens create a dialogue between light and shadow, presence and negative space, while the sinuous green contours act as both structural lines and pathways through the composition.
Rather than describing a single subject literally, JChadima allows natural forms to transform into one another. The painting becomes an exploration of the underlying rhythms shared by nature—curve, balance, movement, emergence, and flight.
Springtime in Paris #2 was included in the Springtime in Paris exhibition presented at the Carrousel du Louvre, Paris, in 2024.
