Springtime in Paris #7 forms part of JCHADIMA’s 2024 Springtime in Paris series, developed from the artist’s continuing response to the distinctive light and atmosphere of Paris during the transition into spring. The city becomes less a specific location than a sensory environment, where changing light intensifies the fresh colours of emerging vegetation and creates fleeting moments of visual clarity.

Nature remains the fundamental point of departure. Drawing from observations of flowers, plants, and the organic forms that surround the artist, JCHADIMA moves away from literal botanical representation toward a more muted and fluid interpretation. Familiar structures are softened, fragmented, and reconfigured, allowing the natural subject to become an abstract field of colour, shape, rhythm, and movement.

The composition is defined by restrained colour relationships and simplified organic forms. Rather than relying on strong contrasts or clearly articulated botanical details, the work allows colours and shapes to flow gradually into one another. This creates a quieter visual atmosphere in which the boundaries between individual forms become deliberately ambiguous.

As in JCHADIMA’s broader practice, observation becomes transformation. The natural world provides the underlying structure, but the artist allows that structure to evolve through abstraction. Lines become gestures, botanical forms become fluid shapes, and colour becomes an atmospheric rather than descriptive element.
