Heavy candy

I had the idea to make a three dimensional version of my Pop Art oil painting series “Candy Land”. So I made a bronze sculpture of my interpretation of a gummy mouse, a popular choice of candy of my children.😁

I cover the casted bronze with white patina and add several layers of oil paint and finish off with varnish. The four colours are made in numbered editions of ten. They were accepted to the Spring Show at Stockholm’s Liljevalchs Art Gallery.✨

At the Bengtsson Fine Art gallery during the Arles Festival, the shop “(e)space” together with my very last pieces from the bronze edition there is the black wax version of my bronze series “heavy candy”, numbered 1 to 10. You use the wax sculptures when casting in bronze, a process called ”cire perdue”.😉
