16th May1954, Born in Okinawa, Japan. Kochi has been living and working in France since 1982. 1974-1979, He studied at the Tokyo Zokei Art University, the Musashino Art Unuversity in Tokyo　and further pursued his studies in Italy 1979-1981 at the Academia Belle Arti in Florence where he studied a lot of Renaissance and Gothic Arts. However, at this point he felt the need to discover his own art within his contemporary world which encouraged him to look further into his self research. This lead him to spending several months in London, where day in and day out he visited museums and art gallery gathering nourishment for his inspiration. He settled himself in France in 1982 Kochi is attracted to all expressive energy and has an understanding of the importance of works of art expressing an energy. His personal work one can always find a harmonious space composed of diverse forms and color. He has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums in France, in Japan, in U.S. Particularly, Gallery Claude Lemand has been represented Kochi’work in Europe. Kochi was selected by National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS) to be the 1996 Official Grammy® Artist. He create the original artwork for Gramy’s CD cover. And also an extensive collection of prints and multiples, published by the StarArt Foundation, commemorates this event. He was also selected to be the Official Artist for MusiCares® for the 1996 New York ArtExpo. His art works were exhibited in this event. Effective Microorganism organization, 2001 Earth vision film festival,edited poster. 1996 Axone, 1997 NOVOTEL, C.Lemand gallerie, edited a lot of lithograph. Gallerie C.Lemand also edited multiple bronze sculptures of Kochi.
