On m'a souvent dit que vous pouvez ressentir l'esprit de ce Moran (guerrier) Samburu, cousin des Maasai. C'est dans son regard intense. Le rituel au cours des cérémonies et danses, est de sauter très haut et tout droit, sous le regard des femmes admiratrices.
I’ve often been told that you can feel the soul of this Moran when you look at his painting. I love the casual and yet dynamic way in which the Samburu jump. That’s a ritual in their dancing and singing – a contest as to who can jump the highest and straightest. They are so proud when their turn to jump comes and concentrate on being the best. I wanted to reflect this best Moran here. He inspired me to do my first “almost to size” dancer.
