Ludwika Ogorzelec, artiste sculpteur, née en Pologne en 1953.
En 1983, elle a obtenu son diplôme à la Faculté de Sculpture de l'Académie des Beaux-arts de Wroclaw. Dès la quatrième année de ses études, elle a entamé son programme créatif original, qui a plus tard pris le nom de « Cristallisation de l'espace » (la sculpture de type in-situ). Dans sa réflexion créatrice, l’artiste s’éloigne de la conception traditionnelle de la sculpture en tant que volume réalisé dans un matériau durable et exposée dans un certain espace. Elle considère l’espace lui-même comme son matériau sculptural. En accord avec les affirmations de scientifiques dans le domaine de la physique, elle considère l’espace, bien que celui-ci est non visible à l’œil humain, comme une matière et non pas un vide. Pour elle, l’espace est un conglomérat de nombreux phénomènes physiques et chimiques qui ont un impact considérable sur les émotions de l’homme.
Cependant, afin d'aider l'œil humain – le mécanisme imparfait – à voir cet espace invisible, l’artiste le dessine en trois dimensions avec des lignes qui se croisent (en utilisant de matériaux durables) et en le divisant en fragments – les « cristaux »… Elle invite le spectateur à l’intérieur de ceux-ci... et à l'intérieur, le spectateur peut non seulement voir mais aussi ressentir.
Le travail de Ludwika Ogorzelec a pour objectif de toucher la sensibilité première de l’homme, et par là même de le faire sortir des stéréotypes de la vie quotidienne, afin qu’il enlève son masque, cesse de jouer un rôle... afin qu’il se rappelle qu'il a le droit de prendre des décisions, qu’il est une personne à part… un homme et non pas un rouage dans la machine sociale.
En 1985, le professeur César, après avoir vu ses réalisations qu'elle a apportées de Pologne, l'invite dans son atelier parisien à I'ENSBA, en disant : « Je suis heureux que tu sois ici, tu as apporté dans mon atelier une esthétique nouvelle et différente et par ton travail, tu montres à mes étudiants que le véritable art existe réellement. » Grâce à l'invitation de César Ludwik, Ogorzelec a pu continuer, au-delà du « rideau de fer », son travail original, commencé en Pologne en 1981.
À la fin des années 1980, l'originalité de son travail est remarquée par les galeries parisiennes, puis, en 1990, par la galerie Philippe Staib à New York. Les critiques d’art se penchent sur son art, y compris aux États-Unis (Michael Brenson dans le New York Times, Ann Wilson Loyd dans Art in America), en France (Françoise Monnin, Itzhak Goldberg) et bien d’autres encore, partout dans le monde où Ogorzelec est arrivée avec sa sculpture in-situ du cycle « Cristallisation de l'espace » durant ces 35 dernières années.
La « cristallisation de l'espace » est un cycle – une action créative qui, issue des principes bien définis de son programme, évolue dans le temps, en adoptant de nouveau contextes spatio-culturels des espaces trouvés dans divers endroits du monde.
